When you first turn on your smartphone and you are taken through the setup process, you will undoubtedly be asked if you want to turn on location services. As you read the screen that talks about these location services, one that mentions GPS tracking, locations, and the accessing of information you may not want the … Continue reading How to: Enable GPS and Other Location Services [Beginners’ Guide]
So let’s think about having new builds or releases each week and every minor improvement needs to be tested. Those minor changes result in 100 different use cases (50 for Android and 50 for iOS) that need to be tested on 20 different devices. It’s about 2000 different combinations to test each week… each week! It’s impossible to do this manually: the answer to this would be the UI automation approach.
Hello friends, I have a question. I’m building an IOS/android app like the local market place letgo. The difference is this App will be used in some contries in Africa. What do you think about this plan? Do you think it’s a great move? Please email me amabowilli@gmail.com if you have any pointers and we will discuss further.
Hello Carter , Great info. Question …can I choose multiple options to create revenue in my app? Or should I chose one at a time and add more as I go? Or is the best option based on the type of App it is. Also if I can get a huge sponsor/corporation that is related to the industry that applies to my app? Do I need to go live with App first to see how it works to better brand my app? My App will have two sides to appeal to. The consumer/client and the Professionals that service the consumers. This could include brand name products / and additional elements of the industry that I am targeting. My App will have universal appeal all over the world and the ability to reach 1 + million licensed professionals and than 2 + million establishments. Thanks again
If you don’t mind sharing your notes with other students it’s a great way to generate a little extra cash. There are sites out there that you can upload your notes to, along with your price, and then when another student downloads them you get paid.
Mobile app testing is a hot topic. The number of downloadable apps is barely comprehensible (Android Apps: 1,5 million apps; Apple’s App store: 1,4 million apps ) and the device fragmentation is nearly beyond imagination (24,093 Distinct Android devices seen up until August 2015). The only way to develop apps is to test on as many devices as possible through mobile app testing.
The great thing is they’re highly reviewed and well-respected in the mobile app world. There is no reason to worry — you aren’t dealing with some paid survey network with a ton of technical issues. As of writing this, 79,145 Cash Pirate user reviews in the Google Play store amounted to a 4.5 star average rating.
Smart TVs and set-top boxes are a surprise leader in terms of device types to target first. Only a tiny fraction of developers in our survey had these as their primary target, so this isn’t a reliable sample. It’s hard to get visible on TV platforms and you usually need content, so this might not be a strategy to emulate. The Internet of Things is also unexpected at number 2 considering how immature the market is. It may be the case that hardware sales are involved in many of the higher revenue earning businesses here, in which case there are much higher costs associated than for pure software businesses. While smartphones are a massively more popular primary target than tablets, the chances of an app earning above the $5k per month level are quite a lot higher on tablets. There are likely to be several factors involved here; less competition, more tablet apps targeting enterprises and with the reliance on free apps making most of their money from a small fraction of users, it can pay to provide an optimum experience for the heavy users on a larger form factor. This last point is valid right up to the highest revenue levels – Supercell have built their games tablet first with a scaled down experience on smartphones.
If you’ve been around lock screen money making apps for a while, then you’ve probably heard of Slidejoy. They’re one of the most popular ones out there. Expect to earn around $5 – $20 per month using this app.
