The drag-and-drop widget editor is how you actually build what your app will look like from screen to screen. To test these apps from an average business user’s perspective, I built a basic scheduling app. The goal was to build an app that could add a new event with fields for event name, date and time, and, duration, and the ability to invite users to events and sort the events list in a calendar or chronological view. Any additional features or customization on top of that was a bonus.
A third way that cross promotion can occur is relatively automatic: when someone views the store page for one of your apps, and they are shown a list of your other apps — for example, the “More from developer” section in Google Play. This is especially likely if the user has already tried your app and liked it. This kind of cross promotion is a good way to help your apps be discovered when there are many competing apps in the same category. It serves as an automatic filter for anyone who happens to browse one of your apps.
You can be paid in cash depending on the complexity of the test. There are also contests you can enter to win additional prizes! Considering the fact that you will be able to test programs for large name companies like Intuit and Flipkart, this is an opportunity you might not want to pass up.
The platform turned to be very effective. A great example is Goat Simulator – one of the top-30 paid apps, that costs $4,99 and has been downloaded over million times in Google Play store. Still, app publisher reported, that Goat Simulator earnings on Underground have outperformed its Google Play app version by 30%.
This year, New York City invited programmers and developers to dig through their data and create urban apps. Offering $20,000 in prizes, the city hoped to spur technological innovation. For app developers, though, it was a big chance not just for a cash prize, but for exposure. When the prize winners were announced, everyone from politicians to venture capitalists were there taking note.
If unlocking Ibotta’s rebates is too much hassle, try Receipt Hog, which rewards you for shopping in fewer steps. Just scan receipts when you shop—the app primarily supports grocery and drug stores—and collect points for each scan based on how much you spend. If you scan at least one receipt a week, you’ll also have the chance to play a slot machine style game that can earn you extra points. Receipt Hog makes the money to reward you by collecting your shopping data—minus your personal information—for market research, so if you object, you’ll want to stay away. But if that’s not a problem, Receipt Hog is a straightforward way to earn a bit of extra cash for your everyday shopping.
SavingStar was originally created to help you link loyalty cards from grocery stores into one account and reap rewards each time you make a purchase. This way you don’t have to constantly be carrying your loyalty cards around. Not only that, but you could also clip coupons electronically that would be automatically applied at checkout.
They also have an excellent referral program. For each friend you refer, you get $.25 cents plus $10 when they make their first $20. Not only that, but you also get 10% of all of the points that they earn – definitely the best referral program on this list!
An ever increasing number of solutions utilize location data and GPS integration. In these solutions, features are designed to depend on location or distance to other locations. Successful mobile testing ensures quality across different types of GPS implementations and needs to utilize efficient location simulation.

One hallmark of application quality is following up with users and soliciting user feedback after an app is placed in production. You can continuously learn from this feedback—both to improve the existing app and to design new apps so you don’t repeat mistakes. You can also improve the portions of your automated test scripts that are automated so they can account for elements of the human experience that a developer or an IT QA person might not think of. What you don’t want to do is to just check off a mobile app as complete and never think about it any more.

Update Feb 2016: Originally when I wrote this answer, we had just launched our Android app and so couldn’t fully answer.  Since my answer has been getting a fair number of views, I wanted to give a quick update.  Our Android app now has about 250,000 monthly active users.  We are using Facebook’s Audience Network native ads now.  We are bringing in roughly $4-5,000 a month from them.
Updates are also a good way to give your app a slight “bump” in the eyes of the user. A notification is shown whenever an update is available for an app that is installed on a user’s device, or if automatic updates are enabled, when an app has recently been auto-updated. This notification gives the user a gentle reminder that your app exists, and might prompt them to try out the new version and see what changed.
Userinput currently provides its website testing opportunities through Amazon Mechanical Turk. However, you can also apply to test apps through the application on its website. You’ll get paid $5 per app test, with more information provided after you are accepted.

Since they’re a fairly new app they don’t have many offers available. Yet the cash back amount they offer is quite good compared to the other receipt scanning apps on this list. Expect to earn anywhere between $.25 and $2 per offer. Keep in mind you can scan more than one offer per receipt to increase this amount.
You can also earn cash on your desktop by installing their browser toolbar. We estimate that you can earn about $20 – $25 a month. While it’s not much, surfing the web is something you’d probably be doing anyhow.
Starting a website with Bluehost takes less than 20 minutes, costs hardly anything and can be done by an 82 year-old. It only takes a bit of plugging on social media to get your first visitors, and there are plenty of ways to monetise your site.
Additionally, wearable application testing is an interesting market. Bluetooth, GPS, Sensors, Wi-Fi are some of the core technologies at play in wearables.[4] A lot of importance is needed here for field testing, user focus, and looking at areas where hardware and software need to be tested in unison.

And, since you most likely have a laptop or smartphone with a built-in camera and microphone, all you have to do is apply to become a tester and immediately begin testing apps and websites.
For the most part, these jobs are supposed to be completed covertly, without the staff noticing what you’re up to. In larger stores this is easily done, but for some tasks at smaller businesses it seems like it’d almost be impossible to complete without giving the game away.
To benefit from the freemium monetization strategy, you need a second, paid version of your application. If users like a free version, they’re likely to opt for a paid one that has some extra functions.

Gaming apps dominate the list of top-grossing apps. Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle makes an estimated $2 million per day in revenue. King Digital Entertainment’s Candy Crush earns $1.6 million daily through in-app purchases. Supercell, the company behind Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, makes over $2.3 billion annually. Most game apps are free to download, but the real money is made through in-app purchases. Kim Kardashian’s virtual shopping app has brought in a reported $100 million since 2014 from 42 million downloads. So if you’re not a game designer, don’t worry — there are other categories with impressive earnings.
